Texas Archive of the Moving Image

  • Rehouses 16mm according to archival best practices and builds 16mm reels for long-term storage

  • Uses the Lasergraphics scanner to wind and prep films for long-term storage, and to scan films not previously digitized

  • Updates the digitization status of films in Salesforce and FileMaker Pro

  • Inspects 16mm films for preservation issues and addresses them accordingly

  • ​Learns TAMI cataloging protocols and standards and conducts research on historic people, places, and events, reviewing content for historical significance and flagging relevant content

  • Catalogs digitized footage and increases searchability for both internal and external research by tagging content with names of significant people, places, historical events, and more, entering metadata into catalog records in FileMaker Pro
